Dunki vs Salaar
Dunki vs Salaar: A place known as the Maratha temple in Mumbai, although named a temple, doesn’t function as one. Instead, it has become a sacred spot for fans of Shah Rukh Khan. Initially famous for screening “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” a film that marked Shah Rukh Khan’s cinematic debut in 1995, the temple broke its 28-year tradition by replacing the iconic ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ show with ‘Pathan,’ ‘Jawan,’ and eventually ‘Dunki’ during the year.
Unfortunately, ‘Dunki’ couldn’t match the box office success of ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawan,’ leading to its sudden removal from the Maratha temple.
Shah Rukh Khan’s connection with this venue dates back to the nineties, but this time, ‘Dunki’ faced a setback. ‘Salaar,’ a film featuring Prabhas, took its place and even surpassed the performance of Rajkumar Hirani’s film. Box office reports revealed that ‘Saalar’ achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing 100 crores on its release day.

This success not only impacted Maratha Mandir but also prompted several single-screen owners in Mumbai to reduce ‘Dunki‘ shows and extend those of ‘Salaar.’ The exact reason for this shift remains uncertain – whether it was purely business-driven or influenced by other factors is yet to be known.
